What do I get when I rent equipment from you?
A lens rented from Boston Photo Rental will include the front and back caps, filter, and hood. A camera body will include the body cap, eyecup, strap, battery, and charger. If you have any special requests, please do not hesitate to ask.

Does all equipment come with manuals?
We do keep manuals on hand if requested and can provide you with links to downloadable versions in advance if you’d like.

Do I need insurance to rent camera equipment from you?
Some of our more expensive equipment does require insurance prior to release. Our staff will walk you through the ins and outs of coverage.

Does Boston Photo Rental charge a deposit?
On many pieces of equipment, a deposit or insurance is required before we can release it to our customers. We always communicate with you before charging any kind of deposit and evaluate each order before doing so. If you become a regular customer at Boston Photo Rental, you may find your deposits reduced or even eliminated entirely.

May I extend my rental?
Our inventory is generally reserved in advance, but we do our best to accommodate requests.

What if I don’t see the lens or camera that I want on your website?
We’d love to carry every piece of equipment that’s out there, but that’s impossible. At the same time, we’re always on the lookout for new pieces to add to our inventory, so we gladly listen to our customer’s requests. Just contact us and tell us what you’d like to see more of from Boston Photo Rental.

What happens if I return a memory card full of data?
If there is any data you still need, please contact us as quickly as you can. The first thing we do when we get a memory card back from our customers is reformat it. This is done for the privacy of our clients.

What forms of payment do you accept?
We accept most major credit and debit cards including VISA and Mastercard. Note that you must have a US-based billing address and that we do not accept any type of VISA or Mastercard-branded prepaid card, gift card, virtual card or other payment forms without your name on them.

Do you charge late fees?
Yes. We’ll determine if you owe an additional amount based on the time stamp of your rental. If it’s overdue by under an hour, though, just let us know in advance and we’ll gladly waive it.

Can I cancel my pending reservation?
If you need to cancel the order, please contact us 24 hours or more prior to your reservation.
